DESCRIPTION
Mining site with short life of wear resistant compound was looking for a long lasting solution. Products tried in the application had poor adhesion and fast wear out, lasting maximum 30 days. Last product used was Nordbak® with same performance of short life up to 30 days.
On day of application: Comments were made by plant maintenance personnel that:
- (1) Dura-Coat® Abrasion Fast 356 mixes easily and required minimum surface preparation;
and - (2) Dura-Coat® Abrasion Fast 356 was very workable and much easier to apply, especially vertically, when compared with their experience with Nordbak®, that can be difficult to apply and stick on vertical planes.
On first inspection after 22 days – refer to photos on pages 2 and 3:
- (3) Dura-Coat® Abrasion Fast 356 adhesion remained strong (no material separation) and there was no noticeable wear;
and - (4) Projected service life at least several months more compared with Nordbak® that we were advised normally experiences wear after only one month in this application.
